Terms of Service

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use YCU. If you are under 18, you represent that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf. Users under 13 are not permitted to create an account.

2. Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You agree to provide accurate information during registration and to keep it up to date. You may not share your account or let others access it. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

3. Acceptable Use

YCU is an educational and faith-based community. You agree to:

• Treat other users with respect and kindness
• Not post offensive, hateful, or inappropriate content in group chats or messages
• Not use the Service for spam, harassment, or any unlawful purpose
• Not attempt to access other users' accounts or data
• Not reverse-engineer, scrape, or interfere with the Service

4. Content

YCU provides educational video content, courses, quizzes, and community features. All content provided by YCU is owned by or licensed to Young Christian University. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without written permission.

Content you create (group messages, profile information) remains yours, but you grant YCU a license to display it within the Service as necessary to operate the platform.

5. Groups and Community

Users may create and join groups. Group owners and admins are responsible for maintaining a respectful environment within their groups. YCU reserves the right to remove content or restrict access to groups that violate these Terms.

6. Gamification and XP

YCU awards experience points (XP), streaks, and other rewards for educational engagement. These have no monetary value and cannot be exchanged, transferred, or redeemed outside the Service. YCU may adjust the XP system at any time.

7. Subscriptions and Payments

Some features may require a paid subscription in the future. If introduced, billing terms will be presented clearly before purchase. Subscriptions purchased through the App Store or Google Play are subject to those platforms' refund policies.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. YCU does not guarantee uninterrupted access, error-free operation, or that content will always be available. Educational content is for informational purposes and does not constitute professional advice.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, YCU and its team shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes through the app or by email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

11. Termination

You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends immediately.
